Magnet Programs
Students engage in the writing process to report our findings through investigation developing research techniques and skills. These findings are then collected and utilized to construct writing pieces in Journalism.
another unique elective here at Sanders Park Elementary Magnet School. Students learn the 5-Step Writing Process (Pre-Writing, Drafting, Revising, Editing, Publishing) in Journalism to produce written communication.
students practice skills in informative and persuasive speaking and effective listening within conjunction with the Common Core Public Speaking Standards. The final draft of the writing piece is presented and formatted to be either informative, persuasive, or entertaining when delivered to an audience. Debate techniques are also implemented in the Public Speaking elective.
